Tell us a bit about yourself? I'm Amelia Caesar, I'm an indie-ambient folk solo artist. I'm based by the Brighton coast taking strong influence from the likes of Lucy Rose and Ben Howard. I released my EP 'Weep Like Giants' back in June 2017 which displayed my love for metaphorical lyrics infused with de-tuned finger-picking guitar melodies.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest? I was originally a fully acoustic solo artist before I decided to ramp things up a bit by transitioning into the world of electric guitar and space echo's. My songs can be innocent with a twist of anger, I'm enjoying experimenting with lots of weird and wonderful pedals to develop my original acoustic foundation.
What’s your back-story? All of my songs are personal, however my most personal but relatable song has got to be 'Skin and Bones'. I sing about body-image and self-perception - a very touchy subject for most. It's a song to encourage people to open up about how you view yourself, no matter what age or size you are, it's also a shout out to those who suffer from a lack of self-confidence - you're not alone.
What are you working on at the moment? After a successful 2017 releasing my EP, opening The Great Escape 2017, playing at Glastonbury and 2000 trees and going on tour in Budapest at the end of last year, I'm looking forward to releasing new tracks. My EP was an introduction to my music but my sound is developing to be louder, angrier and a lot more electric. I'm hoping to be touring this year and hitting the festival season with some new songs.
