"Astounding voice alert, Amy is a great sonic explorer in the tradition of John Martin and Janis Joplin. Whaling blues and jazz tinges akimbo." BBC N IRELAND
Her voice has been carved from relentless busking throughout Ireland and the first ‘single’ Dangerous’ was self-released to critical acclaim in April 2017. Since then, Amy has completed an Irish tour, played a handful of Irish festivals and recently returned from a trip to Vietnam which spawned a whole new collection of inspired material. Amy and Michael are now ensconced in her Antrim farmhouse studio writing and recording new songs for her debut album in 2018.
"I suppose my dad's musical interests would have influenced mine a lot when I was a child. This meant listening to a substantial amount of blues and heavy rock! Artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and ACDC were forever booming out of the speakers in my house. Personally, I am inspired by a lot of artists and things outside of that spectrum too. Alanis Morissette is a huge inspiration, her ability to create, connect and express amazes me. The meaning of the word inspire is to fill with courage or strength of purpose, and that's definitely what I intake from her music and self. Leaving the western industry aside, I'm heavily ( or should I say lightly ) inspired and energized by the Eastern music and philosophies. The dynamic inspiration that comes through in my writing is created mostly through meditation. As if writing alone isn't meditative enough! There's a reason for every track of mine. Whether that reason is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual shines through in the context and performance. I've always been extremely independent. As I was growing up, my mum was very ill and traumatically passed away in 2016. Going through a loss like that, can either make or break somebody. I was happy to make the conscious decision to allow it to help me along my path so far. Some things aren't problems but mysteries. If we allow ourselves to accept the mysteries then there is bliss itself." - Amy

We had a summerhouse when I was a kid. There was a plastic fish that hung on the wall with a button below it. When the button was pressed...the fish danced and sang 'Don't Worry Be Happy.' I think his name was Billy the Bass!!
