Atticus Street began in 2016, when bassist Ross Davidson and singer Seb Szabo met while playing in their university big band. After discovering a common passion for big-sounding alternative rock (of the likes of U2 and Switchfoot) and a unique songwriting chemistry, the two began performing original songs as an acoustic duo before quickly deciding to start a band. Drummer Lucas Snapp and Szabo reconnected after previously attending primary school together, and the three members began writing and practicing, harnessing their considerable performance experience prior to meeting one another in order to craft an engaging live show.

Atticus Street’s music incorporates influences such as U2, Coldplay, The Strokes, Radiohead, The Killers and The 1975. With Szabo’s smooth vocals, ambient guitar/piano and a powerful rhythm section anchored by Davidson and Snapp, the resulting sound is anthemic . In their short time together the group has been noted for its energetic and passionate live performances and emotionally affecting original songs, which explore youthful themes of life, loss and love.

Their debut single, 'Holding Out', was released in early December of 2017, capping off a stunning year for the young band. With an unrivalled fervour and enthusiasm for arena-sized rock, the first song from Atticus Street translates the unrelenting energy of a live performance along with the ambition of a band with its eyes set firmly on the stars. Anchored by smooth and powerful grooves and a driving lyrical urgency, the song navigates the conflict and anguished confusion arising from moving on before your heart is ready.

Produced by Damien Young (Pony Studios) and mastered by Joseph Carra (Crystal Mastering - Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard, San Cisco), 'Holding Out' is a raw and uplifting debut that moves your feet and electrifies the heart.

2018 is set to be another big year for Atticus Street as they prepare to release a music video to accompany their single. Later in the year they will also be heading back into the studio to record some of the songs from their ever expanding repertoire.
