Beasts are a three piece Rock band, hailing from London and Bristol, consisting of Joe Mallory-Skinner (Vocals & Guitar), Tom Wood (Drums) and Loz Fancourt (Bass). Drawing in influences across the spectrum of 90s grunge and alternative rock, with an undeniably gothic edge to their sound, ethereal sound effects and subtle licks of organ, which weave around loud fuzz guitar and slurred drums.
In their short history, the three-piece have already made their mark, with Radio 1’s Daniel P. Carter premiering all three of their singles, 'Annie', 'My Girls a Serpent' and most recently 'Creature'. The band have also received support from other BBC presenters such as Alice Levine, Zane Lowe and Phil Taggart; along with support from Radio X present John Kennedy.
Beasts aren’t strangers to life on the road either, with a slew of festival appearances including Reeperbahn, Rock For People, Reading & Leeds, The Isle of Wright Festival and headlining The Great Escape. They’ve supported the likes of Marmozets, Turbowolf, The Subway, Pulled Apart By Horses and Theory Of A Deadman, along with a host of headline shows across the UK, most recently a single release show at the ever vibrant Crobar, just off Londons Tottenham Court Road.
The band set out to record their first debut album after their first initial EP releases - teaming up with veteran producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (Orgone Studios), who produced, mixed and mastered the album; along with helping bring out the true nature of Beasts, with their dark 90s grunge fuelled guitar licks and gothic undertones - duelled with smooth vocal harmonies. The album is set to really establish Beasts within the world that is Rock.
Looking to tour throughout 2018 and 2019, Beasts will further establish themselves in the live world, with energetic performances fuelled by heavy riffs, they hope to put guitar led music back on the map for the UK.
