Bisou Noir was born from a love of rock music and overpriced craft beer. The band blend dark guitar-driven rock music with pop influenced melodies. 4 guys who love playing music and doing it from the ground up. In their early twenties, the group have accumulated over 10 years of gigging experience with previous acts. The boys are hardened veterans despite their age, with Bisou Noir proving the most exciting, selling out shows across London and beyond, including Brixton Jamm, 93 Feet East & The Islington.
Bisou Noir came together in unique circumstances, with Toby (Vocals), Jake (Bass) and Mikey (Drums) having played together for several years, Toby met Milo (Guitar) during some extra work on the set of Mama Mia 2 (a classic). The four came together over some beers and discussed childhood musical influences of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gorrilaz and more. “The rest?” We hear you ask.
Their studio singles Showdown Fooled by You & Not Enough are bold examples of the band’s expansive sound and desire to make an impact in the scene. ‘Fooled by You’, which features the band dressed as four clueless mimes stumbling through life, has caught the attention of BBC Introducing, with the band headlining gigs in Berkshire for the BBC. All singles have been produced by friend of the band, Simon Jackman (Produced You me at Six, Bokassa and Acres).
The boys spend most of their time together bouncing ideas off one another, honing their sound. This has evolved into regular features on radio stations in London and the south, listeners have been impressed with their original sound and nostalgic nod to noughties and its alternative heyday. The band feel it is important to champion this sound and are passionate about staying true to their roots.
Like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all members bring something different to the team. Toby brings his melodic lyricism, Milo offers drive, Jake provides mediation and Mikey, likes pizza.
We had to hit a certain word count for this, but at the end of the day, it’s about the music. So, if you like it, come see us at a show or check out our socials, we have lots of them.
