Learn more about me
We are 5 school guys from the Glasgow suburban sprawl who've been making music on and off for 10 years and have finally decided to get back together...
or in Glasgow dialect;
"5 guys nae burgers or fries just a big raging buffleheid, rip the buffleheid aff it!"
Originally 4 Guys and a Chinaman, we have been close friends since High School and spent a lot of time in the early years writing and playing gigs in the University years circa 2007-2011. After a short pause on the band, Buffleheid are back refining the early songs and writing new ones to form the current song set that we have now. We believe the set is strong enough for a live environment and our aim is to get our music out and people listening.
Recently recorded in July 2017 in Chem19 (Glasgow), we have two songs professionally recorded, Pick Me Up and Message Conveyed. These are two of our latest written songs and clearly demonstrates what Buffleheid can give. We hope to record the rest of our songs in due course. Our current set:
Penguin, Dillion, Ladybois, Pick Me Up, 1 2 3 4, Message Conveyed, Our 4th Ever Song and Clio.
Buffleheid recently headlined a gig in local Nice & Sleazy in Glasgow to a crowd of 90+ raising over £250 for Cancer Research. It was originally advertised as our First and Last ever gig as our guitarist departs for travels around the world; however with outstanding feedback, we have agreed to carry on for the time being as a 4 piece.
Stevie Mann - Vocals
Andrew Gallagher (hiatus) - Vocals, Guitar
Jason Chau - Guitar
John Rabey - Bass
Stephen Lightbody - Drums
The reason our band works is because of the close friendship we have prior to the band which allows a certain type of energy to flow. This is clearly visible live on stage. In addition, each band member has a ecletic different taste in music which allows a huge wide range of influences into the style we play - from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Clash, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Shania Twain and Korean Pop Music.
