Dutch Criminal Record are a four piece Indie/Surf band from Chichester, UK. They write and perform their own brand of original upbeat indie tunes featuring melodic vocals, interlinking riffs and blooming harmonies based around a background of solid bass and energetic drums. Alex, Rio, Joe and Sam met in a school GCSE music lesson and formed the band almost instantly. Referencing a football trip to Holland that Alex had been on, the band chose the name Dutch Criminal Record and launched at their school Battle of the Bands competition. While they didn't win their musical appetite was considerably whetted and following a string of hometown gigs they released in 2014 the Dutch Criminal Record E.P. In 2015 Dutch Criminal Record recorded their E.P. Mirage, which spawned their single Socks and Sandals. Whilst gigging frequently along the South Coast and London, DCR won the 2015 Wedgewood Rooms Showcase.
Their June 2016 single, "On the Fence" was featured in Spotify's renowned "Fresh Finds" playlist and the song has amassed over 210,000 plays to date. Having recorded four more singles each featuring a different band member on the artwork and lead vocals Dutch Criminal Record are planning gigs across the South and are writing in preparation for future releases.

They have been recognised by BBC 6 Music, having been played by Tom Robinson on his BBC Introducing Mixtape and received considerable airplay on Regional BBC Radio including a live performance from BBC Broadcasting House Brighton.

"DCR have definitely opted for a bang up to date, contemporary sound with ‘Wasted Time’, bringing to mind comparisons with the likes of Cassia, Marsicans and Eliza and the Bear.
Infinitely accessible, one to add to your summer soundtrack." Jackie Lees for Tipping Point

"Remember the name: Dutch Criminal Record – for these lads are going places, they have picked a direction and will surely create memorable tunes for us to enjoy." Wolf in a Suit

"DCR remind me a bit of the Housemartins – everyone’s go-to feel-good, slightly cookie, off-centre jangle-pop band of the mid-80s." Fresh on the Net (Derval MC Mcloat)
