Flex was born Aaron James Murdoch on September the 25th 1995 at the redditch Alexandra Hospital.
He attended St.Stevens first school and then moved on to Birchensale Middle School and finally Trinity High.Hight school is where he and jake hammond (Babblebeats) started to experiment with music part time after school. they shopped demos around for over 2 years and then ended up creating there own label called "W.T.F" which then formed into "WayTooFresh" after Jake left.

How were you able to start your journey in the entertainment business? Where did this all start?
Flex: For me it all started in my first year of high school. A lot of my friends started fooling around with music and I kind of just followed. In the end I started taking it more seriously than the rest.

What are some of the creative ways you use to promote your music?
Well, for promotion I mostly use social media as that’s the best way to connect with fans and reach new people. These days everyone’s on a social platform and reaching more of them has become a lot easier.

What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them?
I would say the sheer mass of music out there is making it hard for artists to stand out, especially in hip hop. One person creates something new and others just latch on. For me personally I would say its making sure each project is fresh and different to my last. If they all sound the same, then what’s the point.

How is the music scene like in your hometown? What do you like about it and what don’t you like?
I’m from a town in the UK named Redditch or “The Ditch” as some of us call it. I’ve always felt that the people from there could always do more. There are some really talented people doing all different types of music, but just not enough encouragement. It’s a real shame.

Where do you think the future of music is going to be? How do you feel artists can be more a part of it?
In one word. Streaming. Without a doubt in the next few years streaming is going to dominate sales and out do permanent downloads like Amazon or ITunes. As for artists being a part of that, it’s all about moving with the times and if you’re not willing to do that then you end up getting left behind.

What advice can you give to other upcoming artists and musicians trying to achieve success?
Never stop believing. I have that tattooed on my arm and it’s words to live by. If I gave up every time someone told me they didn’t like a song or criticized my reason for doing something, then I would have been washed up a long time ago. Just believe in yourself and the things you create.

What inspires you to write your next song?
Successes. Family and life. I can never sit down and just write a song. I have to experience something or have an idea first which then snowballs into a full track.

What are the steps you take to make a song?
Most of the time I always start with a beat. This wasn’t always the case as when I was starting out. I would just be sat at home writing out pages of lyrics and then getting to the studio where we would create a beat to fit the lyrics. This was holding back the producer as he was having to work backwards, so it’s the instrumental first these days.

What do you think makes a great song?
I feel it really depends on the type of song you are making. I think every artist has that moment when they hear a finished song and they think “this is the one.”
