“Gloriously guitar-heavy British Indie Rock - shot through with raw bluesy fire"
Sheffield’s fast-paced, 3-piece indie-rock band, FloodHounds, pulls you from British Indie rock to raw American blues and hits you with whatever is found in that swampy, turbulent, rock n roll intersection. Striking you with a sound reaching out from the speakers like a British White Stripes, with a hint of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and a flash of the menacing groove of Queens of the Stone Age.
“Go see them live, they’re one of the finest bands this city has produced and I cannot recommend their live performance highly enough. Caught them at Tramlines Festival - absolutely on form!” BBC Introducing Sheffield’s host Christian Carlisle, a consistent supporter, said as FloodHounds made his Top 30 Tracks of the year
FloodHounds were picked by This Feeling to open their first big Sheffield show of 2018, which sold out over a month in advance. This comes after supporting a run of touring bands, including; Sleeptalking, Childcare, God Damn and Fat White Family, The Surrenders and Calva Louise. FloodHounds kicked off early 2018 supporting The Blinders at a Sold Out gig at The Venue, in Derby.
FloodHounds recently won Pirate Studios national competition and performed a special full set streamed Live from Pirate's London Studio on Halloween
“Take It Too Far is an in-your-face, riff heavy, punk tune full of guitars and bluesy harmonicas. Thanks to our Drummer Lauren’s secret flute skills, we also found ourselves exploring new musical ideas such as bringing in those Flute parts for a psychedelic bridge section. The message behind the lyrics is just one of optimism in the face of challenging times. You don’t know how exactly you’re going to make it through whatever it is you’re facing, but you’ll get there someday” - Jack Flynn, Guitar/Vocals
“A DIY assault of brash riffs and a nastily menacing guitar, this three piece messily blend garage rock with bluesy indie rock, a fast paced bite of dark grungy energy layered over their sound. They have a thunderous sound, one which is a uniquely eclectic fusion of genres” - Indie Underground Blog / Some Might Say Zine
“A riff laden, rock heavy, psychedelia packed beast of a tune” - Gigslutz / This Feeling Track Of The Day
