A Woman is like tea
You never know how strong it is
until it is in hot water
Tell us a bit about yourself? Hey my name is Ivy Mae, i don't say much but i sing all the time! Taking influence from music legends such as Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry and Kate Bush - i have been buried away for the last two years writing and developing music that shares my message, my voice and opinions. Originally from Somerset, i have now been in London for two years and have had the privilege to write with some of the greats and also experienced extreme heartache - not that i believe it is necessary but it definitely helped me write from within. Otherwise i have a small obsession with glitter and i like unicorns oh and i don't like cheese.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest? My songs are melodic pop, i love harmonies and experimenting with my vocals, whilst keeping it commercial - something i don't think any female pop artist is doing at the moment.
What’s your back-story? Heartache - painful life changing heartache, i found it better to sing about and i hope my songs can help others through too.
What are you working on at the moment? Working on releasing my first EP - i want the songs to be right so its taken a while. Im hoping you will hear the blood sweat and tears in the music.
What's the first song you remember hearing? Mr Blue Sky - ELO. I used to sing it in the car with my dad at the top of my lungs!
You're in a Karaoke Bar - What's your go to song? Umm the last time i did Karaoke i sang Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball!
What was the first gig you went to? Mcfly :)
Which song do you wish you'd written? Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
Which song changed your life? Michael Jackson - Earth Song - i felt the emotion and i wanted to be a part of it.
Which song would you like played at your funeral? Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
What song is stuck in your head right now?Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman Sound Track - its brilliant! Also love The Middle by Zedd.
What was the first Album you bought? Michael Jackson Greatest Hits & ABBA Gold - what can i say melodies capture me!
