Tell us a bit about yourself?
Well, I'm Izzii Grace and I'm a sort of Singer/Songwriter. I tend to dip between styles, but I really love RnB and soul. Fully inspired by Tamia and Amy Winehouse.
There are a lot of emerging Artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
Musically- used to write music with my acoustic guitar, because... that's what everyone did. Now what I like to do is involve vocal throws into my music and add a mix of RnB and soul with this. But I guess, overall I don't look like a star... I like to be a bit average. I'm not aiming for stardom, just a good living that involves music. I guess that's whats set me apart, I want something more than just keeping music to myself!!
What’s you back-story?
Most of my tracks I tend to have real stories, not always mine but people I adore who have a story to tell. I like to be honest in my music. The track When I'm Lonely has quite a heartbreaking story behind it, you wouldn't really tell from the lyrics and I'm not ready to be so honest about that song yet.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm currently working on my first EP, I've finally gotten a band together for this current music. Finishing off songs and just heading to recording... Then gigging all this for your ears.
What's the first song you remember hearing?
The first song I remember hearing. I've heard a few... I remember the moment I first heard Ka-Ching by Shania Twain, my dad always had her CD in the car and this song always just spoke to me. I still listen to it now and feel the same way, it's an honest song and you should give it a listen.
You're in a Karaoke Bar - What's your go to song?
Well it depends what mood I'm in but more often than not Beyonce, she is up the for me and I get so involved when I sing Irreplaceable... Although me and my co-writer (Amber!) attempted Bruno Mars the other week, it was hilarious.
What was the first gig you went to?
The first ever gig I went to was Paramore, in 2013 and myself and my brother queued for 12 hours outside Wembley waiting to get right to the front... and we did!
Which song do you wish you'd written?
I wish I was apart of writing Bohemian Rhapsody, but that is such a holy song. Like even just listening to it gives me chills!
Which song changed your life?
There's two, first song was definitely Misery Business by Paramore. That song made me feel so cool and empowered... especially when headbanging in my room. Next was Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls, I would sing along to the song in front of my living room mirror, pretending to be on stage!
Which song would you like played at your funeral?
I feel I should have a slow song that really represents the mood, but I think I wouldn't like to pick. I'd like a select few people to choose songs that they listen to and they think of me, I'd want that.
What song is stuck in your head right now?
The song by Pitbull, Hotel... my housemates were just singing it.
What was the first Album you bought?
I can't remember the first album I bought, I think it must have been a paramore album.
Which song made you want to play music?
Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls
