est. 2016, James Leonard Hewitson and (his band) The Relevant People are based in the North East of England, and create indie-rock, with influences of post-punk, protopunk and anti-folk. He tends to write observational lyrics with an upbeat, yet relaxed flair to them. What's he done?
James has played shows with The Districts, The Coral, Misty Miller, Frankie and The Heartstrings and Beach Baby, as well as appearing at some of North East's key showcasing events, like Stockton Calling, Twisterella Festival and Evolution Emerging. James has also played headline shows in London at The Old Blue Last and The Waiting Room In addition, James has had positive reviews from the blogosphere, as well as support from national radio and television. He has had radio support from Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music, Frankie Francis from Amazing Radio, Bob Fischer from BBC Tees and Nick Roberts from BBC Introducing in the North East. On television, his music has been used by the shows Made in Chelsea and Tattoo Fixers.

What's he doing now?
He is currently working on a new record to take into 2018, whilst balancing a full-time job, his events work for Hartlepool Borough Council, and bits and bobs of music journalism. He is teaching himself how to produce his own records at home.
