Singer-songwriter from Lincolnshire.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm Jazz, an 18 year old from Louth in Lincolnshire. I've been writing songs since a young age but recently found I'm writing in a style I love from influences such as Radiohead, David Bowie and Gabrielle Aplin. I've been playing gigs for a couple of years now and I've learn't that my favourite kinds of performances are really intimate chilled settings but in the future I'd really like to explore bigger venues with a more electric sound to my music.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
I always admired people who could play an instrument, as well as write songs. During my GCSE year at school I developed a problem with my legs, which meant I was bed bound for more than half the year, luckily in that time I was given a guitar and spent my time learning it, and when I recovered played my first gig with my own songs as well as covers of Nina Nesbit and Gabrielle Aplin.
What’s your back-story?
A lot of the songs I write have a specific inspiration - such as a story I've heard or a circumstance either myself or a friend is experiencing. I aim to make every song relatable, but it meaning something different to every person. I take a lot of inspiration from my past and the feeling of being stuck somewhere has been a big influence on the songs I write.
What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment I'm learning the piano as well as experimenting with bedroom producing! In the new year I'm hoping to record an EP as well as keep playing gigs in my local area.
