Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a cosmic Art Rocker from a land afar in space and time. The artists that inspire me are David Bowie, St. Vincent and Radiohead.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
There are so many great and relatable songwriters out there at the moment. I like to think that music fans want a bit more than a good song though. The whole Johnny Black experience is about being submersed in an adventure of Sound, Vision and Storytelling.
What’s your back-story?
I, like many others use music as a gateway to finding out who I really am. The music that I write is vital to working out the origins of Johnny Black.
What are you working on at the moment?
I have just released a new single called 'Love Is Not Enough' inspired by TV series Twin Peaks. I'm hoping to release my Debut EP in Summer and I've been recording quite a number of songs to fit in with the current Johnny Black story. I have a big headline show on April 11 at Aatma in Manchester.

Bit of an odd one - Enter Shikari in Manchester around 2010! Was a hell of a first gig to go to.

Which song changed your life?
From hearing War Is Over (Merry Xmas) as a child at Christmas, I started to realise that the world isn't as safe or as comforting as you think it would be as a child. It made me start to question the structure of society and inequality at a very young age.
