Staffordshire, born singer songwriter Lissy Taylor spent two and a half years living in Lexington Kentucky USA, she moved to the USA in January 2015, which is when Lissy first took pen to paper and started songwriting with her first song 'Home". Her songs are filled with emotion, combined with mature, captivating lyrics that touch the heart. Its difficult to believe her debut album 'Reminds Me of You' was recorded and released at just 16 years old. Lissy grew up listening to a variety of music from The Beetles, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Oasis, The Killers, Lana Del Rey, Adele, Ed Sheehan and then living in Kentucky has brought a country influence to Lissy's style of songwriting and resulted in a combination of pop, blues and americana.
On arriving in Lexington, Lissy joined in with the local music scene and open mics and at 16 years old was successful to be one of the winning acts at Eastern Kentucky University Battle of the Bands competition where she performed her own song 'She". This followed with performances at the Lexisfest Festival, Woodsongs Old Time Radio at the Lyric Theatre performing along side Grammy winner Bobby Rush, WKYT TV and ABC36 TV, Barefoot Kentucky TV and Red Barn Radio and performing professionally around Kentucky. Lissy released her debut EP 'Reminds Me of You' in January 2017, produced by Broken Crow Studios, Lexington and features Nashville's musicians; Mark Prentice on bass & piano and Michael Severs on lead guitar, who have supported greats such as Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stuart and Don McClean.
Lissy returned to England in June 2017 and was the opening act at Leefest The Neverland August 11th, for artists Parcels, Tom Grennan and headliner Jake Bugg. She also performed at the Leek Blues and Americana Festival and BIMMS Live and Lyrical showcase of Emerging talent at Gorilla Manchester. She has performed lived on several local radio stations including a BBC Introducing session in Stoke which was broadcast on 28th October 2017 and her 1 hour show on Red Barn Radio show was broadcast across Kentucky, Tennessee, Minnesota and West Virginia in November 2017. Lissy was #1 singer songwriter in the ReverbNation charts for Kentucky and then following her move she became #1 for West Midlands for both Singer songwriter and Pop.
She has recently been collaborating with James Bell, winner of Nickelodeon's rising star and Guitar Magazine's UK young guitarist of the year and together they have written a pop song 'I WILL WIAT', which has aired on BBC introducing Stoke and available on iTunes / spotify.
Lissy is currently studying a BA (Hons) degree in Songwriting at BIMM - British and Irish Modern Music Institute in Manchester.
Her music is now receiving airplay on local and internet radio, she featured as the Face of February for MusicHour UK, has been selected by UPRYSR as one of their featured artists www.UPRYZR.com and recently won the 6Towns Radio Local Music Act Award 2018.
2018 brings more time recording in the studio, more Festivals and a trip back to the USA for a feature on Red Barn Radio plus lots more live performances.
