Llovers are a 5 piece indie-pop band from the North East of England. A young, ambitious, band set to spread their message of love through their dream driven tracks channelled with unquestionable pop sensibility. The band, comprising of Jack Brooks (vocals/guitar), David Macnab (vocals/guitar), Joe Connor (bass/backing vocals) and Matthew Jenkinson (drums), have already landed support slots with the likes of Little Comets, Palace and TRASH in their short time together, not to mention attracting widespread tastemaker coverage.
The idea for the band was formed at McDonalds, where David and Jack both worked, as a means to escape the golden arches. After a period of writing and looking for members, Joe, Ben and Matthew were recruited, and and the band were formed in October 2016, continuously practicing before self recording and releasing their first single.
Lyrically, Llovers explore the uncertainties of life and love. Their stories and discussions are often purposefully contradictory and focus on how passages in time expose the fickle nature of thoughts and feelings. These lyrics are backed up with tight harmonies and perfectly crafted dreamy soundscapes.
Debut single Borderlands (released November 2016) was a surefire introduction to the bands unique style of pop. The track achieved numerous radio plays, and it was also playlisted by Amazing Radio and played on BBC Introducing as well as being added to Spotify's Hot New Bands playlist and gaining widespread attention from blogs across the internet.
Following on from Borderlands, Feeling Sound (released March 2017) reached similar heights, including airtime on BBC 6 Music, being playlisted by Amazing Radio and Spotify and also being used in an advertising campaign by Adidas.
In latest single I Don’t Mind (released September 2017), the band’s infectious blend of alt-pop truly comes to the fore, showcasing the exquisite harmonies and dreamy guitar work that has become a signature of the band. The song in it's first week of release charted at number 6 in the Dork Buzz Chart.
With scheduled appearances alongside Dream Wife and Caro in the next few months and further new material set for release in the near future, Llovers are primed for more national exposure.
