Tell us a bit about yourself? So, I'm from the Isle of Wight, but grew up mostly in Panama. There, I started listening to a lot of Singer-Songwriters and learning to play the guitar and write. Then, I got a scholarship to go to a boarding school in the UK and I've been here ever since. After school, I moved down to Brighton and recorded 'Sugar'.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest? I started out writing songs quite generic to the singer-songwriter genre. Which is sort of why I never released anything, but when the opportunity arose I chose 'Sugar' because I felt it was the most unique of all the music I'd written. Happy summery music :)
What's your back story? Sugar was a song I wrote most of quickly. I wrote it when me and my partner had only been together for 3 months, so we were just very happy. I recorded it around 6 months later and my girlfriend did backing vocals on the track.
What are you working on at the moment? At the moment, I'm planning my second release date and a European tour later this year. I'm also working on tracks with some amazing artists, so hopefully people might get to see some of that as well.
Whats the first song you remember hearing? Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue
You're in a Kareoke Bar - What's your go to song? Forget you by CeeLO Green
What was the first gig you went to? Kylie Minogue with my mum when I was around 5 or 6 I think.
Which song do you wish you'd written? So so many, but You Had Me by Joss Stone is a tune.
Which song changed your life? I'm Yours by Jason Mraz because it made me learn the guitar and Stop This Train by John Mayer, because it made me pick up the guitar again after I'd hit a point where I didn't know if I wanted to do music.
Which song would you like played at your funeral? I'm gonna say Something by The Beatles because I love that song and it would fit the mood in a happy/sad kinda way.
What song is stuck in your head right now? Attention by Charlie Puth
What was the first album you bought? Me and my mum went to HMV and I bought American Idiot by Green Day with my pocket money.
Which song made you want to play music? I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. Before that though, I remember trying to play You're Beautiful by James Blunt when I was around 8.
