Learn more about me
Tell us a bit about yourself?
We're a two piece based in Edinburgh - Andy and Will, if you please. We’ve both got quite a range of influences between us, which hopefully comes across in our music. In terms of songwriting, our joint influences include Paul McCartney, Mac Demarco and Brian Wilson. But then we've each got our own personal favourites.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
We like to have a lot of fun with it, both in the studio and live. People that come see us live have a laugh, whilst still enjoying the songs. We definitely don't take ourselves too seriously... It's just two of us, which means that we have to be creative in how we write and record the tracks. We're always thinking of new ways to translate the recorded songs into our live sets.
What’s your back-story?
We were in a full band together before we started milkd. We then got asked by a friend if we'd like to come along and play some songs just as a duo, and it turned out to be really fun. We did a few more shows like that and started writing more songs together, and now we're being interviewed by the NME!
What are you working on at the moment?
We've just released our new single, Come Out. It's a step in a new direction compared to our first EP. We've started work on our second EP, which we're really excited about, which will be coming out next year.
