Tell us a bit about yourself?
We're Paisley Sundae, a 4 piece band from Barnsley in South Yorkshire. Mason Harris is the singer and rhythm guitarist, Josh Whitehurst is the lead guitarist, Henry Swift plays bass and Owen Galloway is our drummer. We like a variety of bands from the Stone Roses to Pixies to My Bloody Valentine but we'll listen to anything decent.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
We have our own unique style and we like to play really loud and with a lot of energy. We don't try and please everyone by copying the Courteeners or anyone like that. We want to bring something different to the table.
What’s your back-story?
We started off like most bands do, 4 mates who were bored and needed something to do. We found a sound that we could work with and it's gone from there really. We've had positive reviews everywhere we've been so we must be doing something right.
What are you working on at the moment?
We recently recorded 5 demos which are now on Soundcloud and Youtube, go and check them out. We're also recording our next single very soon which will hopefully be out in November so keep your eyes peeled for that.
What's the first song you remember hearing?
Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. My family are mad on Elvis so he was always on when I was a kid.
You're in a Karaoke Bar - What's your go to song?
It's got to be Mardy Bum.
What was the first gig you went to?
I saw Foals at the Leopard in Doncaster just before they released Holy Fire. It was the most insane thing I've ever witnessed, 200 people on the brink of explosion.
Which song do you wish you'd written?
Barbarism Begins at Home by The Smiths. Everything in that song is perfect.
Which song changed your life? Bone Machine by Pixies. It showed me what originality is.
Which song would you like played at your funeral?
My Way by Sid Vicious.
What song is stuck in your head right now?
Yuk Foo by Wolf Alice.
What was the first Album you bought?
Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses.
Which song made you want to play music?
Smells Like Teen Spirit. I first heard it when I was about 7 and it made me want to grow my hair and be in a band.
