Tell us a bit about yourself? Drawing inspiration from common situations, Penelope Tree aims to capture the mature side of Pop-Punk that is both meaningful and relatable. Hailing from Buckinghamshire, the quartet formed in the latter stages of 2015, and since then we worked tirelessly to create songs that en-capture what it really means to be young but getting older.
Often compared to The Wonder Years, Neck Deep, Taking Back Sunday, Four Year Strong and Trophy Eyes.
There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
More than ever the UK music scene is calling for artists that understand the fans that support them. Fresh out of university, Penelope Tree's lyrics are poetic, relatable and real. The songs we write are not hollywood-esque re-imaginings of British life, they are true stories about trials & tribulations everyone can relate to.
What’s your back-story?
Our debut EP follows the first three years after you leave school and realise exactly what the world is really like. Experiencing heartbreak, anxiety and friendship is all part & parcel of growing up, but that doesn't make it hurt any less.
Our next release en-captures the next stage of life and the self-reflection everyone goes through throughout their 20's. Expect extreme highs and crippling lows.
What are you working on at the moment?
We've got our second EP coming out in early 2018, accompanied by our first music video and a whole host of shows across the UK. This EP is a big step up for Penelope Tree, but we've kept our roots close to hand.
