Learn more about me
Not a girl, nor having any affiliations with Pizza, Pizzagirl's music ranges from quirky, ironic, 80s informercial-esque pop to darker and more introspective, European influenced electronica.
Pizzagirl, or Liam Brown to give his citizen name, crafts light-hearted emotional vignettes equal parts American East-Coast sad-indie, and gloomy British wit, all delivered fresh from his Aintree bedroom.
It's a small operation. With the help of a thrown together flatpack mini studio, Pizzagirl writes, records and produces all of his music and visuals from the comfort of his home. His best mate shoots his videos and his mum takes his press shots.
The debut single from Pizzagirl, Favourite Song is a moodily infectious invitation into the Liverpool lo-fi pop artist's polychromatic world. "'Favourite Song' is my attempt at making a tune that would fit nicely in a Miami Vice/Blade Runner soundtrack" elaborates Pizzagirl "Lyrically, it's themed around being nostalgic, and seeing a certain person and time through a rose tinted camera lens . Ideally listening to it in 1989 would be best, but as long as you're cruising down the city streets in a convertible at night then you should hopefully enjoy it just the same."
Following on from debut single Favourite Song, Liverpool based lo-fi bedroom pop artist Pizzagirl releases glowing and gently pulsating new single Carseat. "Carseat is an ode to the non-drivers of the world (like myself), the bold and beautiful ones who have control over the music on every journey, whether it be far or wide. So relax, tune in to pizzagirlFM, kick back in the passenger seat and bop away!"
Standing solo on stage, accompanied only by his trusty laptop, Pizzagirl displays the lonesome idiosyncrasies of an introvert married with the larger than life extroverted nature implied by his eccentric, zany and often pensive pop tunes. Pensive pop tunes that'll be accompanying fellow Liverpudlian dreamers, and label mates, Her's on their UK tour through April and May.
