Shakin’ is a garage rock trio, with Veronika Villangó singing, playing the trumpet and the tambourine, Dániel Balogh playing the guitar and singing, and Tamás Illy playing the drums.
They play fresh, vivid sounds with a focused stage presence. In the songs of Shakin’ there is a great balance of catchy pop melodies and raw punkiness.
They sing in English and play original tunes.
Between 2013 and 2016 they did a lot of street music, and were traveling together to Paul McCartney and Rolling Stones shows around Europe. That is quite a good school if you want to play rock and roll, isn't it?
In 2016, Shakin’ recorded their first song, Eleanor. It tells an exciting story about a fridge and a washing machine.
With this song, the band was discovered in a talent search program in 2016, and gave concerts in various clubs in Budapest, and gave an interview in the famous indie radio Tilos.
Their 4-track debut EP Are You Shakin’?, came out in July 2017, evoking positive reviews in various media. That summer British AIIFM radio played their song "The Same Old Attraction” in their program "Through The Curtain”.
The band played at the talent search program of DreherFeszt, and gave concerts in renowned alternative clubs in Budapest (Gólya, Dürer, Auróra and Mika Tivadar). They also got into the finals of the Soundcheck talent search program. In September, they gave a concert in Slovenia, in Koper, in pub33.
Their single called Sllik was released in September 2018.
In November they also released a video for Sllik.
On the 26th of November 2018, Shakin’ got invited to support Canshaker Pi (NL) at the Budapest stop of their European tour.
They started the year 2019 with releasing the group’s first live recording. It is called Made in Eaglefield, and it’s available as a Live EP and also as a session video.
The music of Shakin’ is heavily influenced by The White Stripes, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Velvet Underground, Deap Vally and The Kills.
All the recordings of Shakin’ are written, recorded and produced by Shakin’, mixed & mastered by Tamas Illy.
