"it’s like lo-fi, minimalistic, American rom-com soundtrack, lead by Brandon Flowers" - Jericho Keys

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a 20 year-old bedroom/shed musician from Nottingham at university in York. Most of my teenage years were spent listening to Arctic Monkeys, The Fratellis, The Killers and co., and developed a love for songwriters and songwriting through them and people like Lou Reed, Brian Wilson, John Lennon. Spent years waiting for a band to come along before being inspired by the Kevin Parkers and Steve Lacys of the world to do it myself.

There are a lot of emerging artists in the UK right now. What sets you apart from the rest?
My songwriting is formed by a mixture of love for puns and world-play with emotional pop melodies and a mild attempt at groove.

What’s your back-story?
I've been writing love-struck songs since I was 16, consistently backing up failed attempts at relationships with awkward songs about them, but after managing success in that department I'm trying to write happier-ish lyrics.

What are you working on at the moment?
Currently attempting to balance the final year of a History degree with figuring out what to do afterwards and writing more music - there will be a new song by Christmas, but it won't be a Christmas song (I believe).

What's the first song you remember hearing?
Something by The Who or The White Stripes

You're in a Karaoke Bar - What's your go to song?
The Boys Are back in Town, Chelsea Dagger or any Arctic Monkeys song

What was the first gig you went to?
Kings of Leon

Which song do you wish you'd written?
Pale Blue Eyes by The Velvet Underground

Which song changed your life?
Also Pale Blue Eyes

Which song would you like played at your funeral? La Vie En Rose

What song is stuck in your head right now? UNO by Rex Orange County

What was the first Album you bought? Probably Here We Stand by The Fratellis, I didn't need to buy much because either my dad, my brother or my sister bought them and I'd listen

Which song made you want to play music? Seven Nation Army or Smoke on the Water
