After a whimsical decision to leave his Marketing internship early, Tee Peters’ lyrical style came from sneaking off to a Kojey Radical x Adidas Workshop in 2017. It was here he asked Kojey for some techniques to merge his raps with the Spoken Word poetry he was performing at Open Mic Nights he was holding as the treasurer for his Performance Poetry Society at the University of Nottingham. Since then, Tee has gone on to supporting [K.S.R] in April 2019, had his music playlisted with Kojey himself, BBC Introducing, Sofar sounds playlists, Reprezent Radio w/ Intalekt and Jack Rose’s Summertime Bangerz playlist with 15k Followers.
While honing his lyrics, Tee began crafting his vision for a sound deriving from Jazz, Lo-fi Hip-Hop and Future Bounce songs he was hearing on radio shows like Soulection. Taking his search to the internet, he began to build a network of friends and connections from Instagram and Social Media. For example he records songs with Imagiro, Hz & Epifania who are currently being featured in Spotify’s Official “Jazz Vibes” Playlists, while then creating stunning visual content with his friends over at OTTO Productions, MACO Media (his longtime friend who now works with the likes of GUAP MAG, R.A.E and Mostack) and then Kimmie and Leena who can be found as stunning models in Dave and Headie One’s 1hunna Music video.
Tee documents his life journey through music, narrating the perfect and flawed aspects of youth. So far this has taken him to the BBC where he’s been given airplay and interview time for his music via BBC Introducing. It was here he spoke about a music event and film he worked on in 2019 about mental health and music that was sponsored by O2. His stand out singles, Southside and Letter To My Brother were his first songs to reach national radio via Kemet FM and Intalekt’s show on Reprezent Radio and always fill the room with smiles and energy when performed live.
Tee's main area of engaging with fans is through Instagram account @youngboyonajourney where he documents his progress and developments.
