"They're making waves in their coastal hometown. It's hardly surprising. I''m really excited about this band". -
Jericho Keys. THE FEENS are - Freddie Schmuck (vocals & guitar), Adam Lodge (vocal & bass) Sam Dowling (lead guitar) and Perrie Bunton (drums) - a four piece alternative / Rock 'n' Roll band hailing from Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
After forming in late 2016 and doing cover shows around their hometown of Scarborough to get started, Freddie, Adam, Sam and Perrie decided in June 2017 that they were going to start writing original tunes and set out on gigging out of Scarborough. THE FEENS headed for York as a starting point with a few gigs at the popular Stone Roses Bar.
Their debut single, 'Wrong Move', arrived at the beginning of October and was well received, gaining over 12 thousand views on their Facebook video and receiving interest from BBC Introducing North Yorkshire along the way. Host; Jericho Keys, invited them in for a live session and had some kind words for the band. "I’m excited about this band. They are really making some great tunes. It’s refreshing. I’ve been buzzing off their songs for some time.” From this, the band earned a play on BBC 6 Music from Tom Robinson.
Gigs that followed included a support slot with Hello Operator in December at The Crescent in York and a packed out debut Barnsley show at the Old No7 Bar in early January where Frank Turner has appeared in the past.
February 2018 sees them play another show in York, this time with promoters Scruff of the Neck at The Basement. Before that The Feens are back at The Nave studio in Leeds working on two new singles with producer Tom Orrell. People can expect to hear the tracks in their live set and will be available to stream in early spring. As for the rest of the year, they are looking to gain as much interest as possible and gain fans by playing pretty much anywhere in the UK that will have them and carry on the strong start to life as a band.
