Max Stockin and Ryan Skidmore of Birmingham based band The Fidgets first played together in early 2013. The two met after Max answered Ryan's advert on musicians wanted website JoinMyBand, for a singer/guitarist influenced by sixties Pop.
Beforehand, the pair had their formative experiences with music through school and college, with both playing in several bands before meeting.
After rehearsing, writing and recording for six months in late 2012, The Fidgets played their first show at The Dodford Inn in Bromsgrove in March 2013, billed as 'Ryan and Max are generally amazing'. Humble beginnings. They quickly began gigging at other venues and spread around the West Midlands over the next couple of years. In 2014, they discovered busking and their name spread throughout the land!... only joking. They began to make a living from music and were picked up the following year by management company AAM Records.
After being picked up in 2015, the pace of songwriting dramatically increased, with the band experimenting with their sound over the following year, releasing 'Somehow' inspired by their sixties roots, indie-influenced guitar-pop song 'HEY!', and more commercial sounding 'It's Only You', which was picked up as track of the week for BBC Introducing H&W. Following their most recent single, 'Everywhere I Go', in March 2017, The Fidgets returned to the studio to work on establishing a musical identity, beginning with upcoming single 'Them'. With 'Them' now released and part of a compilation CD of earlier tracks The Fidgets are now working on a studio album.
The Fidgets 'sound' has some very definitive ties to Max & Ryans love of 50's and 60's Rock but they are at pains to add that many die hard fans suggest that they are more akin to The 1975 or 5 Seconds of Summer which after all isn't a bad shout.
During the next two years Max & Ryan want to concentrate on building their fan base and to start building an established live following all over the UK. They currently have regular gigs in Worcester and are focussing on getting their sound heard over the rest of the UK.
