The Muffin Heads, are a 3 piece punk/grunge/rock sandwich conceived in Essex. Made up of front woman Bex, guitarist Pete and drummer Nick - recent winners of the 'Double 'Ard Front Woman' 'Fluffiest Guitarist' and 'Worlds Tallest Drummer' awards - TMH bring the noise and are proud of it.
Bex and Nick met as far back as primary school and spent their whole childhood destroying things together. During their secondary school years they played in numerous bands with both of them pushing music to one side when at University. Pete spent his University years as art student in Bristol and made the long journey to Essex a few years ago. It was in Essex that Bex and Pete met and bonded over their love of live music. Many gigs, festivals, forgotten nights and terrible hangovers later, Bex and Pete decided that now was the time to start making sweet sweet punk n' roll. Bex got back in contact with Nick and the rest, as they say, is history.
The Muffin Heads first release was a punked up cover version of Eagles Of Death Metal's 'I Love You All The Time' which was included in the #playitforward campaign in early 2016. The Muffin Heads are immensely proud that their cover song continues to raise money for the families and individuals affected by the 2015 terror attacks in Paris.
In June 2016 the band went on to release their debut double A side single 'Queen Bitch'. Queen Bitch also became the bands first DIY music video which has been described as "a video that you really shouldn't watch just before you go to bed". The band enjoyed radio plays on BBC Introducing Essex, Hoxton Radio, Hard Rock Hell Radio and RadioKC, and with the success of the single landed dates across the UK culminating in a summer appearance at Camden Rocks Festival 2017.
The band reinforced their DIY ethos by booking and embarking on their first UK tour in September 2017 where they sofa surfed around the country playing iconic venues in London, Bristol, Hull, Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Northampton and Canterbury.
The Muffin Heads are now gearing up for the release of their first 4 track EP "Don't Give The People What They Want" being described by music blog GigSlutz as "frenetic and seething from start to finish". The title track has already being debuted on BBC Radio 6 by DJ Steve Lamacq being described as "2 minutes of anti-establishment punk".
