The Fastest Doom Metal and/or Slowest Grindcore Band on the Planet.

Hull Doom merchants, The Parasitic Twins, today announce a lo-fi heavy cover of the 90s classic ‘Spaceman’ by Babylon Zoo, out on Friday, April 5, 2019, with all proceeds going to The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). The single is taken from a split EP with York-based hardcore punks, The Carnival Rejects (released via Bandcamp on May 31st in association with Man Demolish Records). Artwork for the piece was made by Jess Zschorn.

Of the decision to record the cover, drummer Dom Smith comments: “Man, we love Babylon Zoo. This is a classic track that was way ahead of its time, and we just wanted to mess with it, and we’ll probably stress a lot of people out, but use it as a way to bring attention to an incredible cause in CALM.”

Of CALM’s importance on a national scale, Dom adds: “Male mental health is becoming more spotlighted every day, and myself and Max [guitars and vocals] want to offer any support we can to spread the word.”

The Parasitic Twins pedal sludge: a genre that combines the unlikely bedfellows of hardcore punk and doom metal. It’s slow, low end riffing and aggressive screamed vocals really inject intensity into two genres that were intense enough to begin with.

The Parasitic Twins are a ferocious two piece band dipping their toes into the worlds of metal, sludge, doom and hardcore. For a duo their sound is huge, filling gig rooms with a wall of guitar, aggressive vocals and pummelling drums - not for the faint of heart.

Just under a year since firing their debut EP “All That’s Left To Do Now Is Sleep With Each Other”, Hull’s scariest kids Parasitic Twins are back with a split EP alongside crust punk mob The Carnival Rejects; “The Parasitic Rejects”.

Caught somewhere between aching low-end doom and histrionic punk rock, the six track EP sees a caustic evolution. A curious inclusion is the lo-fi heavy cover of the 90s classic ‘Spaceman’ by Babylon Zoo, which was released on April 5th.
