The Stoned Immaculate have a noise that is made from a vast combination of genres, which has led to an explosive energy that can be heard in tracks like Spanish Armada and their anti-love ballad, Carmel. They don't like to limit themselves to one style and the connection between the band members can be felt through the music. Coming straight from the indie/DIY scene in Glasgow which has raised major headlining acts, The Stoned Immaculate are not to be slept on. Since their formation at the tail end of 2016, they have written, recorded and produced a 4 track demo EP which shows their unmatched dedication to putting themselves in the spotlight. Securing a gig in the infamous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut is just the beginning for this relatively unheard band.

Currently recording an album in various locations around Glasgow the band have taken inspiration from noughties acts like The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys; bands from the Brit-pop era such as Blur and Happy Mondays; while also keeping some rock and blues rooted in there from legends like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. The Stoned Immaculate are steering heads away from indie/pop band imposters and bringing back indie's good name in a puff of smoke and rhythm.

The way Dec Reid plays the bass spawns from the likes of Flea with his ongoing energy and skill and perfectly compliments Scott Lennon's ferocious drumming which would make a young Dave Grohl proud. Callum Hughes' guitar playing is a strong reminder that there's more than 3 chords to be played on this particular instrument and to top it all off the lyrics are dotted with local shout outs to taxi companies, stories of nights out around Glasgow and witty tongue-twisters from Louis Jamieson who also plays rhythm guitar to round it all out.

There's not much left to say about them, being a relatively new band they're still finding their crowd but they are rising fast and will soon have an LP worthy of release. In the meantime they will be playing live in and around Glasgow doing what they do best: Making noise.

This eclectic sound is everything a true indie-kid dreams about.
