Making fine use of their combined experience from previous bands and projects, Watercolours are a three-piece outfit from Cheltenham with a unique genre-crossing sound. Mixing psychedelia with ambient indie rock and trip hop bass lines, the trio have received a warm reception following their debut release.
Drawing influence from bands such as Foals, Beach House, Real Estate and Wild Beasts, the group pride themselves in their ability to create a big sound both live and on the record. Having met at university as friends long before Watercolours was ever conceived as an idea, the group have a natural and solid sense of identity between them.
With management assistance from Mark Kelly of Marillion, the boys have a clear direction and focus for where they want to be. From spending over a year planning, rehearsing and writing material, the resulting sound of the band is a polished and direct one.
The trio's clean-cut, minimal look and sound is the result of a DIY marketing campaign, with all production and admin taken care of by the band themselves. Since the release of their debut 'Feel Tomorrow', the group have played numerous shows around the UK receiving an extremely warm reception at each. They boys have since played sessions for BBC Introducing and secured slots playing at 2000+ cap venues.
